Ring of Past

Men I Trust has a new video for a track called Ring of Past.” The video consists of clips from the 1979 National Film Board of Canada vignette Love on Wheels and the way the footage is cut reveals a budding teenage love story. Watching the skating action made me seriously pine for the days of roller rinks and adolescent hang outs.

The track itself is classic Men I Trust. A prominent bassline puts the disco in roller disco and gives the song buoyancy. Smooth vocals dripping with nostalgic longing add the dreampop style for which the band is known. This is definitely a record that you’ll want to spin again.
