I have long believed that poptimism played a large part in the declining quality of several music publications. When I see that Pitchfork’s best new tracks include something they describe as “a golf-themed version of Bob Dylan’s ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door’” I am willing to admit there may be other factors.
